I have been working in the ELT field for more than 25 years, with students both from the public and private sectors, at all levels, and for all ages. I have been working in the ELT field for more than 25 years, with students both from the public and private sectors, at all levels, and for all ages. For the past 15 years I've been running a consultancy office in the areas of translation from and into Portuguese, CPD (Continuing Professional Development) for teachers, BE (Business English) and Business English Assessments for companies, ESP (English for Specific Purposes) and above all international certifications for students and teachers (Cambridge Exams, TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS, ICAO, among others). I have worked with global companies in Brazil, such as Renault, Volvo, AccorHotels, Minor Hotels, Neodent, Boticário, in various capacities, from document translator and simultaneous translation, to teaching basic general English to employees, to teaching business English, and most importantly, designing bespoke course materials to focus on areas of specific basic needs. Apart from that, I’ve also worked alongside English schools and centres to help staff and faculty attain international certificates and certifications, like English for the Teacher courses, TKT core modules, TKT specialist modules, and CELTA support classes.
I am currently studying for the Trinity DELTM (Diploma in English Language Teaching Management), with a special focus on Teacher Training and Teacher Development. In my opinion, a teacher, or anyone involved with teaching, never stops studying and developing, for every day there are new technologies, new challenges, so we need to come up with new solutions and be open-minded to changes and shifts in language teaching.
Personally, I’m involved with non-profit organizations, helping with volunteer work in the areas of teaching, coordination and development of community leaders.
