Pra você não ter essa dúvida nunca mais:  There is, nós devemos traduzir para o Português como ''existir'', ou ''haver'', não como ''ter''. There is é a forma singular e seu plural é There Are. Assim, fica fácil entender ''There is a pen on the desk'' ou ''There are two pens on the desk''. A diferença entre Much e Many, é que o primeiro significa Muito, no singular o segundo é seu plural. Para ser mais específico, os professores gostam de dizer que devemos usar Much, para coisas e objetos que não podemos contar (uncountables). Ex: Much coffe, Much sugar, etc. Já o Many é utilizado nos casos em que podemos contar as coisas ou objetos a que nos referimos (countables). Ex: Many dogs, Many cars, etc. Mas, se você ignorar essa parte de contáveis e não contáveis e apenas considerar o Many como plural de Much, eu garanto que você não vai errar
