Há duas maneiras de fazer comparação em Inglês. Isso depende si o adjetivo e curto o longo e quantos sílaba ele tem.
Short adjectives
One-syllable adjective
Ex: Jim is taller than Peter
One syllable adj+ er than to compare people, animals and things.
Other example:
The adjective hot has only one syllable.
Hot --> Hotter
If one syllable adjective ends in: One vowel +one consonant,
we double that consonant and add er to make the comparative.
Other example: California is drier than Washington DC
Dry --> Drier
If one syllable adj ends in: Consonant + y:
we change the y to an i and add er to make the comparative
Two syllable adjectives
Há 3 maneiras diferentes:
1) colocar more na frente e than depois
Ex: more tired than
2) colocar er no adjetivo e than depois
Ex: easier than
3) alguns adjetivos podem ser formados de duas maneira encima
More quiet than or quietar than
Long adjectives
Ex: Jeff is more intelligent than Peter
We use more + 3 or more syllable adj + than to compare people, animals and things.
