1. OLD RECIFE
Old Recife is a little piece of Pernambuco's history kept as a time capsule. With its most diverse colors
and preserved architectural beauties, Old Recife exhibits a lively culture, in each cobbled street, in the
music of the bars and in the remarkable places that warm the hearts of the people of Recife, such as the
Santa Isabel Theater, Republic Square and The San Jose Market.
2. ALTO DA SÉ
Alto da Sé is located in the city of Olinda, being one of the most visited tourist spots in the metropolitan
region, known for providing its visitors with an incredible view of the sea, where you can contemplate the
meeting of the waters of Recife and Olinda.
In this place we have some tourist attractions - such as the Panoramic Elevator and the Igreja da Sé -, as
well as small shops and stalls selling handicrafts, paintings and souvenirs of Pernambuco culture. It is
also possible to taste the Northeastern cuisine, with delicious dishes such as dobradinha, cuzcuz, chambaril,
etc. Even my favorite restaurant is in Alto da Sé, it's Olinda Art & Grill.
3. ITAMARACÁ ISLAND
One of my favorite places, without a doubt! In the 17th century , Itamaracá was the place of fights
between Portuguese and Dutch. The disputes revolved around the Orange Fort, built in rammed earth, in
1631, and rebuilt in stone, in 1654, when it got several cannons. The island is 27 kilometers from my
house, by car it takes us 40 minutes to get there. Itamaracá is known for being an enchanted kingdom, the
island has 11 beaches, from the quietest such as Praia do Sossego to the most popular such as Forte
Orange. It is possible to visit the manatee institute, take a tour of Vila Velha, and try the local cuisine,
with delicious dishes such as marisco, bobó de camarão, etc, as well as a variety of fruits exclusive from the
Northeast, such as Sapoti.
Woooow! Muito bom!!
