Hello Leci,
How to use a verb in the past tense would depend on 2 things.
1) If the verb is a Regular or an Irregular verb.
Regular verbs in the Past Simple take the suffix of ED at the end of the verb. For example the infinitive verb Look would turn to Looked in the past simple
Irregular verbs the verb structure and word changes. For example the infinitive verb teach would change to taught.
2) HOW to use the verb in the past tense would depend on the phrase you want to make.
a) Affirmative Phrase
b) Negative Phrase
c) Interrogative
d) Negative Interrogative
Para ser sincera é impossível dar uma resposta breve.
Apesar do DID ser o auxiliar neste caso, existe a particularidade dos verbos REGULARES que são finalizados com ED (payed) e da lista dos IRREGULARES que é imensa. Por exemplo:
to go - went - gone
Sem esquecer do verbo TO BE que não usa o auxiliar DID.
Isso faz parte de um estudo e não de uma simples dúvida, sugiro se aprofundar em um curso para compreender melhor a gramática Inglesa.
O passado no inglês e dividido em regulares e irregulares. Entra em contato comigo e será um prazer te ensinar como usar o simple past e te ensino a diferença dos regulares e irregulares Leci.
