English, if you don´t like, try to learn with fun

Inglês Vocabulário American English Native

I always pay attention to my students.

Actually, every single course about leadership, teaching, even communication in the work place I´ve recently attempt, and finished for Dan Diegos University and Irvine College, or a simple article of Harwad Reviews, one of the points is : whe are not good listerns

The probem?

We just wait for our turn to talk

That´s why many people teach. No disrpecting anyone, cause when you have 70 studens in class you can listen to them. That´s whyI like teaching for one or to persons, but I made this choince. I think is better for me and for them, cause I listen to every studen and I try to change the way they see how thngs can be taught

And my sutends dance when they came tired, I record job interwies or a theater wirh them. We also draw, we go out for coffee an talk to native speakers (this part some of them don´t like, and I waint for the right time)

But to have fun we have to konow them, and is what I do. So, in the firts class with one off my students I asked her about what she liked and she said: Revenge. An american serie.

Ok.

So I said you homework will be about revenge.

ON that day I was just supposed to show her the way I conduce classes and get to now her.

However, I had a veryyyy clever ideai (I aways have great ideais that make me laught after I solve the problems ou puzzles). I said: lets watch th Revenge promo and I will show how I give classes and at the end I will explain your homework. Is going to be about the first and second episodes of the serie.

Gosh, I always prepare my classes.

I had done that. But I thought "I just have to change here and there", and is ok, She already knows english but she doesn´t like, so we can have fun.

Ok

Result: she still is my student and she likes the class.

Problem... the promo of the serie was all about the fits firts chapter and they got scenes and cut the words, and they needed the hole sentence to make sense.

I tought I couldn´t teach anymore.

I put subtitles on you tube.

Wrong english subtitles!

I tried google... wrong wrong

Finally I decided to watch the firts chapter  (and it was much better than the five hours getting wronge information about what Emily Thorne wanted to say in wich sentence...

This is the result that I send her after two weeks.

"This is not a story about forgiveness.

When I was a little girl, my understanding of revenge was as simple as two wrongs don’t make a right… “Do you know how much I love you, Amanda? –Infinity. –Times infinity.” …but when everything you love has been stolen from you, someone has to pay.

It’s one of the most expensive zip codes in the world.

“Welcome to The Hamptons!  You won’t find a better address than this. –I’ll take it.”

Their lives are private.

“Do you think I’m tan enough for my first day on the beach? –What you need is another bathing suit. –This is practically a burk!”

Their community is exclusive.

“Gray suit boy is kind of cute! –That’s the tragically priviledged Daniel Grayson.”

Their secrets are shocking. And one woman will do whatever it takes…

“Emily is new to The Hamptons but she really wanted to take part in your fundraiser.”

…to destroy them.

“I try to give back as much as I can”

Coming to ABC…

“I’m Daniel. –Emily” “Welcome home, Daniel. –Hi, mom!”

“I would hate to be on her bad side. –Yes, you would.”

Some forgive…

“Have miss Davis escorted off the boat”

Others forget…

“You’re not a part of this. –But I can be just as powerful an enemy as anyone of them.”

But all she wants is revenge!

“To chance meetings! –An unforgettable summer!”

ABC’s Revenge. Coming Wednesdays, this Fall, 10/9 Central to ABC.

O que ela diz no início:

When I was a little girl, my understanding of revenge was as simple as the Sunday school proverbs it hid behind. Neat little morality slogans, like 'Do unto others' and 'Two wrongs don't make a right.' But two wrongs can never make a right because two wrongs can never equal each other. For the truly wronged real satisfaction can only be found in one of two places: absolute forgiveness or mortal vindication. This is not a story about forgiveness.

E a trascrição da conversa que não é muito compreensível entre Daniel and Emily about Victoria:

Emily: (spills drink on Daniel's coat) Oh, my God!
Daniel: Aw.
Emily: I'm so sorry. God, I'm such an idiot.
Daniel: No, don't worry about it. It's, uh, probably the universe telling me I need a costume change. Uh... I'm Daniel.
Emily: Emily.
Daniel: How about I get you a dry Martini? Twice the alcohol, half the stain potential.
Emily: Sure. I'm sorry.
Daniel: No, no. It's okay. Now wait right here.

Daniel: She's really something, isn't she? My mother.
Emily: She sure is.
Daniel: (raises his glass to Emily) To chance meetings.
Emily: To an unforgettable summer. (toasts with Daniel)

Daniel: How many Harvard men does it take to screw in a light bulb?
Emily: I don't know. How many?
Daniel: One, and the whole world just revolves around him. One more?
Emily: Drink or joke?
Daniel: Either. Both.
Emily: Mm, neither. I am just buzzed enough to find that last joke funny. One more, and I might think that you meant it. But don't let me stop you.
Daniel: Oh, no, no. I've had about all the club soda I can take.
Emily: You don't drink?
Daniel: Used to... Epically.
Emily: Hmm.
Daniel: I gotta admit, it's... it's nice meeting someone who never knew the old me.

Emily: Yeah. I know the feeling.
Daniel: (notices Emily's tattoo) Double infinity.
Emily: Something like that.
Daniel: That's a long time.

Daniel: Don't let my mom rattle you. Intimidation is practically a sign of endearment with her.
Emily: I'd hate to be on her bad side.
Daniel: Yes, you would.
Emily: I should go.

Daniel: Uh, I'm headed your way. You need a ride?
Emily: No, thanks. Maybe next time.
Daniel: 'Til next time.
