Are phone calls welcomed any time ?
InglêsEncontre um professor e combine aulas particulares Presenciais ou Online
There was a time when people telephoned their friends very frequently just to have a chat and listen to their friends'voices.Nobody used to get angry or upset with those informal phone conversations .Most of us welcomed the calls where friends and families could exchange opinions and feelings .Sometimes there was nothing too important to say but people were missing their beloved friends or parents.By the way, do you remember that Stevie Wonder 's song : I Just Called to Say I Love You ? It has very nice lyrics , hasn't it ?

Nowadays telephone calls are not that popular any more. Most people prefer to text their friends all the time ,send emails on special occasions and post the latest news on their Facebook page. Then if you phone them, they may get worried or impatient antecipating that bad news must be coming. How about the frequent robot - calls (telemarketing calls)which make most of us extremely angry !
The phone rings and you rush to answer it,in antecipation of a call you have been expecting, only to be greeted by a pause and a monotonous slow,pre-recorded message declaring : "Congratulations, you have won a luxury cruise..." Yes,like thousands of others you have been targeted by a telemarketing campaign ,and are one of the many unwilling recipients of a robocall.

Another modern problem people have been facing with their mobile telephones is the "new one-minute phone scams" that has become increasingly popular and is costing people a fortune.Whenever you see missed calls from unfamiliar numbers on your cell phone or home phones, you often call the number back to see who it was, don't you ? Well, you'd better be careful, that quick call-back can end up costing consumers a lot of money!
