Now just a few words about  the use of the

possessive case in english : noun +'s

(Father´s) means his day.The apostrophe +"s"

 shows it is his day not mother's day (her day).

But if the noun has a regular plural form (ending

in "s"),we do not need to use the "'s" to express

possession,we only place the apostrophe after the

letter "s" .

Examples:

The boys' father is going to get a nice

present next Sunday.(their)

The girls' grandfather is going to invite

all the family to have lunch with him.(their)

The kids' stepfather is going to meet their

father after dinner.(their)
