M-learning

In our digital age where almost everyone has a smartphone or tablet, curious individuals are extremely motivated to learn anytime and anywhere.Then nowadays dictionaries have already listed and defined : m-learning (m- stands for mobile).Whenever this term is used it is often simply referred to as mobile learning.

The key characteristic,and indeed the greatest advantage, of m-learning ,is that learners aren't constrained by the need to be in a particular location,such as sitting in a classroom or perched in front of a computer within a fixed space.M-learning can take place anywhere and any time ,responding to the needs of an 'always-on' society by providing interested learners with materials and resources that can be accessed wherever and whenever they make up their minds.

Another advantage of m-learning is that the cost of people's learning process is trending towards to zero with millions of great learning materials freely available online.

 Besides those advantages, the m-learning also increases the flexibility of teachers and instructors to provide instant feedback and support to learners' specific needs.

The concept of mobile learning goes right back to the 1970s,when companies such as LINGUAPHONE started releasing recordings of language lessons that could be listened to at the learner's convenience.

This term m-learning is a much more  recent modification,motivated by mobile communications technology and modelled on expressions such as e-learning, which refers more generally to learning and teaching supported by computers and other eletronic devices.
