Have you read any new good news lately ?
When English learners start their studies ,
they know adjectives have no plural form.
Examples :
Ten new books were published by that
publisher.Do you believe readers will
buy them ?
Twenty thick books were part of her pri-
-vate library. They were all great novels!
Those young ladies are always reading
good books.Great habit,isn´t it ?
Then when you see the word news print-
-ed anywhere ,you can be sure it is not an
adjective but a noun.It is not a plural noun
so the verb after news is used in the third
person singular.
Examples:
Mary never reads news which reports
car crashes.Do you ?
Peter enjoys reading foreign news on line.
Is it easy to find good news in our newspa-
-pers lately ?
Other words like these are :
good (adj) the opposite of bad.
Examples:
His mother always repeated : Be a good boy,Tom !
goods (noun)commodities,portable
personal property,merchandise.
