I Always Wanted To Know Why Medieval Babies Look Like An Old Man And It Is Good to Know That It Was Because Of Religion And That Was Any Type Of Strange Costume.

Hello, JP...this "costume" in English can be a confusable one for us who speak Portuguese because in this context the right word is custom (something that people do that is traditional or usual).If you spell it with "o" is what people wear during Carnival days or Fancy Dress Parties, ok? Bye

No , babies are not always pretty and cute. Before renaissance painters used to paint babies as a homunculus because of their religious beliefs. They wanted to paint them as Jesus. So, they painted babies looking old and not pretty at all.
After that period , painters changed their models and painted cute and chubby babies like we generally expect them to be.
The videos are short but they give some interesting information about the phrase and about old baby paintings . I was surprise to watch them.
