As soon as Brazilian students read this word " balance", they think of the piece of equipment for weighing things consisting of a bar with a small dish at each end.However, there's another word which is more frequently used than "balance" that lots of learners do not know that is  "scales".

I 'd prefer to buy the third type of scales from the post. It is modern and it isn't so big. It can be very useful to have it in the bathroom.
I didn't know that these 2 words have so many different meanings. Maybe that's why learning English is such a challenge!
