Determination + talent = Marta ,football superstar !

Nobody ignores that footbal is the most popular sport in Brazil.Is it still a national passion ? Well,may be nowadays, brazilian football players are not as admired as Pelé,Sócrates,Rivelino and Garrincha used to be.However in the Olympic Games competitions, while men and women will be disputing in teams with 11 players in matches of 2 halves of 45 minutes each ,enthusiasm and passion have come back  to soccer's fans.

In the women's competition dispute,12 countries are divided into 3 groups.The two best countries of each group and the two best in third place advance to the quarter-finals.After that,the tournment follows the same format as the men's.The top two of each group go through to the quarter-finals,when the knockout phase starts,finishing only at the end of the competition.
