Main or Maim ?

What a difference a final consonant makes ! These two english short words  make learners think of the importance of pronouncing  and spelling words correctly .If you mispronounce them or misprint these words,their meanings will be very different ,you are not going to be understood and these words will not fit in the contexts.

The words are :

 main - an adjective  that is only placed before nouns and it means most important , principal or predominant .

 maim - an intransitive regular verb (maimed,maimed) that means to injure ,harm or wound someone seriously and permanently.

Hello J.P...Good sentences but in your "ha,ha,ha" sentence you repeated main and you should have printed maim ,shouldn't you ?
