National Poetry Day -First Thursday of October.

National Poetry Day is the annual mass celebration on the first Thursday of October in the UK. It was founded in 1994 by the Charity Forward Arts Foundation, whose mission is to celebrate excellence in poetry and increase its audience. There is always a theme chosen for the celebration . "Vision" is the theme for 2020.

The day enjoys the support of the BBC, Arts Council England and leading literary and cultural organizations, alongside booksellers, publishers, and schools.
