What a difference a sound makes !
Most verbs in English are regular (-ed) but some
of the most common verbs such as :READ is irregular.
This everyday verb in the infinitive form is pronounced
read/riid/ but its past simple and the past participle
forms, although they are spelled with the same letters,
their pronunciations change .They sound /red/ like the
color red (adjective)which is spelled differently and
pronounced like the verb to read in its past simple and
past participle forms.
Many people get confused and mispronounce the second
and the third forms of the verb : to read read read ,when
they have sentences such as :

Resolva exercícios e atividades acadêmicas
John has read several books in that modern library lately.
Peter read a book written in english for the first time five years ago.
