When you want to make a long story short in English,you need to summarize it or try tell the story in a nutshell, in brief or in short.Do you think it is easy or difficult to write a summary ? The verb to resume in english means to repeat, to start something again after stopping temporarily,to replay . Resume can be a confusable verb  for brazilian students because the portuguese word that means summarize looks like this word resume with this different meaning.

There are also the words : résumé,resumé ,resume (curriculum vitae / C.V /biodata ) that mean the document that boasts of one's accomplishments which can also cause same doubts in the brazilians' minds.
