When I was a very young student this date: October 15th was a very special day indeed! Everybody celebrated and honored several teachers if not with a real big party, there was always a gift or a card to thank them not only for their patience but also for their 'lasting contributions in our lives".As time went by, this date was not forgotten at all, but celebrations got weaker and weaker and most students looked forward to October 15th just because they would have a day off!
October 15th is still a holiday in Brazil so the majority of Brazilian schools do not open on this date, do they? Well, in 2017 Teacher's Day is on a Sunday! Anyone who really wants to celebrate and thank their teachers for their work and contributions to their education will need to plan it for any other day of the week, right? By the way, lots of countries celebrate Teacher's day but not in October.Did you know that?

Last but not least, I've also remembered that in 1967 there was this American film: "To Sir With Love" which made me cry a lot! I've learned the lyrics of its song which the singer LULU sang beautifully in one of its scenes and I've never forgotten it!Have you also watched "To Sir With Love "? Do you remember any other flick that showed a teacher or a professor who made students change their behaviors along the year?
Now you can watch the video below and pay attention to the song's lyrics too. Then you can comment about this song or the date October 15th at the bottom of this post, can't you?
