" Out of juice "
If you are thinking about a delicious glass
of your favorite juice which you could not
find in the fridge or anywhere in your kitchen,
well ...the meaning of this slang expression is
not that one !
In fact ,it is related to dead batteries or low
power your mobile phones or laptops have so
that they can not work properly.
Examples:
My laptop is out of juice. This is so frustrating.
That climber is packing 5 spare phone batteries
so he doesn´t run out of juice on his climbing trip.
He couldn´t warn his parents about his car
crash because his mobile phone was out of juice!
Sometimes if the person feels low on energy, they
coud also say :
"I´m out of juice! "
Also if your car is low on petrol, you could say:
The car is running out of juice.I need to
stop as soon as possible !
My mom always tells me to charge my phone
so it´s got plenty of juice and she may call
me anytime !
There is a very good conversation you can
listen to this slang expression: "OUT OF JUICE " at
the BBC Learning English-The Language we speak
(click here), ok ? Don´t miss it .
Ah ! Don´t forget to charge your
mobile phone to avoid
being out of juice !
Take care.
