Word of the Day .

Inglês Reading Vocabulary English

How many English new words do you believe you should learn in one day ? What may happen to your English vocabulary if you write only one new word in your copybook or mobilephone notepad every day ? How useful can it  be a podcast to listen to " the word of the day " after reading about its origin and use of it ?  How about a "fill in the blanks "synonym to give you one more word to remember ?

Have you ever checked at the Merriam Webstern .com http://www.merriam-webster.com/word-of-the-day ? If you haven't, do not waste time and simply subscribe to get a new word every day.

I do recommend it because you can not only  update your vocabulary daily but also make your own list of new words to use them later either orally or using them in your own written sentences.

Todays' word is " Mettle ". Have you seen it before ? What's its connection with the word " metal " ? How about  "spunk "?  Is it related to the word "mettle " in any way ? Just click on this link http://www.merriam-webster.com/word-of-the-day to understand what I mean and enjoy this dictionary resource.Last but not least, don't forget to listen to its podcast at the end of its definition !

Now take a look of the " Word of the Day" in the quotes below.Which one do you like best ? Write a few words about it at the end of this post,ok ?
