It’s very important to know how introduce yourself in English and in different situations. Note the examples:
!Informal situation: In a party, Ann sees another girl alone and decides talk to her.
Ann: What’s up? Is everything ok? My name is Ann. What’s yours?
Caroline: Hi, my name is Caroline.
Ann: Cool. So, tell me, do you know the owners of the house?
Caroline: No, I don’t. I’m just accompanying my friend, Julia, but she is talking to other friends.
Ann: Ohh. That’s sucks! I can chat to you while this. What do you think?
Caroline: Ok. It can be.
!Formal situation: Now, Ann is the manager of a company and Caroline is applying for a job in this company.
Ann: Good morning. My name is Ann Smith and I am the manager. Nice to meet you.
Caroline: Good morning, Ms. Smith, my name is Caroline Sacks.
Ann: Please, Caroline, tell me, what did you study at the college?
Caroline: I studied financial planning at Columbia University.
Ann: Excellent. And why do you want to work here?
Caroline: Because this is the best company at the financial area.
Ann: Very good, Caroline. We are interviewing other candidates and we will call you when the process finish. Thank you for your presence here.
Caroline: Thank you for your time. Have a nice day.
Ann: I’m appreciate. To you too.
